Your mind.
Your rules.

Our commitment to your privacy isn't just a legal requirement; it's the foundation of SocialGem. We believe you should understand and control your data, always.

Privacy, in Plain English.

No jargon. Just the straightforward answers you deserve.

What we collect for your account.

To create your account, we need your email address and a username. For Memberships, our trusted payment processor (Stripe) securely handles your payment info. We never see or store your full credit card number.

Can you read my journals?

Standard journals are protected by strong encryption on our servers. For your most sensitive thoughts, marking an entry as a "Secret" enables End-to-End Encryption (E2EE). This means it's mathematically impossible for us, or anyone else, to read it.

How does Quest AI handle my data?

Quest operates entirely within your secure SocialGem space. It can access your journals to provide its services (like summarizing or searching), but it fully respects E2EE boundaries. Your interactions are never used to train public AI models. It is your private agent.

What we promise to never do.

  • Sell, rent, or trade your personal data with third-party marketers.
  • Scan the content of your private journals to serve you ads.
  • Claim ownership over the content you create.
  • Compromise on our privacy-first principles for profit.

What about analytics?

We collect anonymous and aggregated usage data (e.g., how many people use a feature, not who used it) to improve our service. This data is never tied to your personal identity.

All User Content is encrypted at rest and in transit. Content designated as a "Secret" is protected by End-to-End Encryption, which provides the highest level of data privacy.

5. Your Rights and Choices
